Gender Affirming Voice 101: Masc/Androgynous Intro

Course Description:

Speaking with a voice that is authentic and affirming is a journey. Voice Masculinization for-Trans Men, Trans Masc, Nonbinary and Gender Non-Conforming Folx. In this 60-minute introduction to masculinization (and masc leaning androgynous voices), you will learn the fundamentals of voice and explore exercises to help you begin your voice journey. There will be a 30-minute Q&A session at the end.

Instructor Bio:

My name is Quinn (they/them). I'm a nonbinary vocal coach with a testosterone influenced vocal tract. With over a decade of teaching experience, I have found my passion in working with the LGBTQIA+ community through affirming voice practices. I specialize in the areas of voice feminization and masculinization, as well as androgynous voice. Being a gender expansive teacher, I understand how important it is to find support within the queer community. Especially when it comes to something as personal and important as your voice. That's why I created Quintessential Voice Lessons, LLC. and why I'm excited to share these practices with anyone looking for affirming vocal work.

Additional Details:

- Course is only open to members of the trans community.

- Come wearing comfortable clothing + a well fitted mask.

- A handout will be provided, but note taking is encouraged if you would like to take your own!

- You will have opportunities to participate in vocalization exercises (making sounds/noise and speech). You are welcome to participate in these but I want to make it very clear that there is no requirement to do so. This is entirely up to you and what feels best for you and your body. Your decision will be respected.

Han Training Venue Information:

All non-members will be asked to show ID and vaccination cards at the door. As always masks will be required in the space at all times. Space is equipped with wheelchair accessible ramps and diffused lighting. We will be limiting capacity indoors as necessary. Quiet spaces available for those who need it. Restrooms are unfortunately not accessible to mobility devices.
